Nice FTP software
To enjoy my server for image hosting one needs to learn how to use File Transfer Protocol. I just got off the phone with Dr. Bart, who said there's a nice FTP client for everyone's system these days. Ironically, I know of Filezilla for Windows but don't know of any similar free solution for OS X (though there are some killer shareware products out there).
So I just installed Filezilla and will give it a whirl. And I need to find something for the Mac crowd. And the Linux users, well I guess they can fend for themselves (if you run Tux and don't know FTP then it's probably time to learn, ha). Bart suggests there's a super-user-friendly happy GUI tool out there but I'm not sure what that would be. I've often thought it would be "fun" to see if I could make the Gallery uploader work with Toolbox, post go-live. Now I'm thinking I just need to round out the work and test the waters.
I'm as uncertain as ever that the world needs another photo host. It's good to know though, I've got some certainty about one aspect of my offer!
