What can I tell you about the "original" layout/skin/theme thing? These days I'm about sick of it, how's that?
I have looked at this theme for years (literally) and often thought it's not all that bad, just needs a bit more work. However it has serious problems which perhaps are best solved by storing it safely in the bitbucket and moving on. Not yet, however! I'll make a nicer "about this theme" page for my users and include this in the list of available themes.
The theme was first created using old-school tables back when that was all we had (and we liked it! ha ha). Pixel shims and other tricks which are considered with ignominy in 2004 and was the bomb in 2000/2001 when RWXII (or was it RWXI) was created. It went through some iterations before this "good enough" version was brought live. Now that I'm really close to delivering on the key parts of the vision for this project (note: I'm saying this 9/15/04 we'll see how long to finish up) I'm moving these rambles off my home page and to somewhere else. Don't click that link, it's just more of the same... like anyone's reading this anyway!
